I tried to solve this problem with information given on other websites but, yet, it didn't work out. How To Get Wpa2 On Windows Xp OS: Win XP; router: D Link wireless n. I was getting really frustrated and had even taken a look at changing that, but I didn't. When I went into router config and switched from WPA-PSK/AUTO to WPA_PSK/AES, the problem went away!

Newer routers will support faster modes (such as n), but again an old machine may not support these faster modes, so you may want to try setting the mode to a Worked like a charm. Thanks op! Any help is much appreciated! When I try to connect to my network on my own (by clicking on it, then clicking "Connect"), it asks me for my network password like it usually does.
